PowerPoint Alternative

Tired of crappy-looking PowerPoint presentations?  This is a more powerful alternative to PowerPoint, and it’s free, if you don’t mind your presentation being public on the web:   http://prezi.com

The transitions are smoother and more visually appealing.   Share everything online.  Include your own images, audio and video.

Have you already tried it?  What do you think?

  • Fantastic blog! Do you have any helpful
hints for aspiring writers? I’m planning to start my
own blog soon but I’m a little lost on everything.
Would you recommend starting with a free platform like WordPress or
go for a paid option? There are so many choices out there that I’m completely overwhelmed ..
    Any suggestions? Appreciate it!

    • I’d go with free if you’re just starting out. WordPress is great for blogging and fairly easy to learn.

If you’re going to pay for anything, make it a hosting service (but please, not GoDaddy, 1and1, or Network Solutions). Do a Google search for web hosts or web host reviews. Then you can use your own domain (dot.com) name and e-mail.

  • Hi there this is kind of of off topic but I was wondering
if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with HTML.

I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding experience so I wanted to get guidance from someone with
experience. Any help would be enormously appreciated!

    • Yes, they generally do have WYSIWYG editors, so you can change text and add photos or videos. You don’t need to manually code unless you need extra capabilities on your site.
