Help! I’ve accidentally deleted an important file.

If you’ve deleted files from your computer, USB drive, or phone, they are quite likely still in your system. You still have options.

First, check your recycle bin.

If you don’t find it there, there are free file recovery programs.

This popular choice works on most Windows systems: http://www.ccleaner.com/recuva

Click the Scan button, and it will list any deleted data that can still be recognized as files. If the file is recoverable, you’ll be able to select it. Then just click the Recover button.

For Mac recovery, try: https://www.cleverfiles.com/

It lets you preview files before recovery, perform partition recovery, or back up an entire drive.
It also works with Windows 7 and up.

    I have always disliked the idea because of the expenses.

    a year and am concerned about switching to another platform.

    I have heard very good things about blogengine.net.
    Is there a way I can transfer all my wordpress content into it?

      What are the reasons your developer wants to move to .net? WordPress is probably the most popular CMS there is. Could it be you just need to upgrade your hosting package and/or move to the latest WP version?

    • This plugin is popular: Contact Form 7. If you’re not running your site on WordPress, you’ll need to find a script to add to your form. If you’re not sure how to do that, you can hire someone who can help you.

  • If you’re using WordPress, there are several: WP Cerber Security Anti-spam & Malware Scan, Security & Malware scan by CleanTalk, NinjaFirewall Advanced Security Plugin and Firewall, and All In One WP Security & Firewall are options.

    When logged into your wordpress admin account, click Plugins in the left column, then Add New. You can search for “security” or “hacker” and find plenty that are well rated.
